M å l v a k t s f o k u s: Norwegian week!

Another fantastic week at Star Camp is at an end and even though there are two weeks left, I'm starting to feel anxiety over the fact that there are only two weeks left. I don't want the camp to be over.

One thing we, the leaders at Star Camp have learned this week is that Norwegians have a lot of energy. Like, a huge amount of energy! I must say that I'm impressed, even though the leaders are young we didn't stand a chance of keeping up with you!

I was given even more time to work more specifically with the goalies this week which has been amazing. We had about 200 participants, 8 of which were goaltenders that I got to work closely with. I learned a lot from all of you and each one of you took very big steps forward as goalies. Getting to work with all you goalies out there is the best job in the world!

First day!

Because there were so few goalies they were offered a chance to practice a few extra times per day. Seen here are some of the goalies trying to work out how to make it to as many practices as possible! In this picture (from the left): Christine, Silje, Christoffer, Steffen, Lina.

They even played rock-paper-scissors about who would get to practice the most. Amazing.

It took some planning to work the schedule out.

We had to take a ride through town to check out Silje's knee. Luckily everything turned out just fine as you can see!

Leaders vs Participants game!

As with every week we also played a mini-tournament (3v3) and a leaders vs participants-game the last day. We entered the tournament with a team of instructors' where I played the net, but after a while the other leaders' turned on me and switched teams... however, the kids on my team played great and we gave them a good game which was a lot of fun!

Both playing teams singing the original and Swedish version of "When spirits are calling my name" by Roger Pontare. It was a really close game in the first period, but we managed to snag the win in the second. Thanks for a great game, participants!

Zone Trophy!
